Poker Hands classification
1) Royal Straight Flush
A Royal Straight Flush is the crown jewel of all poker hands. It consists of an Ace-King-Queen-Jack-10 from one suite.
2) Straight Flush
A Straight Flush is the second highest payoff in poker hands, and consists of any combination of five sequential cards that are in the same suit. ie.: the 4 of pinnacle through the 8 of pinnacle would be considered a Straight Flush.
3) Four of a Kind
The Four of a Kind is in the third place. Four aces would be the highest Four of a Kind possible, followed by four Kings, four Queens and so on.
4) Full House
The Full House is the fourth highest paying of all Poker hands. A Full House is made up of a Three of a Kind and a Pair. The combination of cards can be from any suit. For example, a full house can be made up of three Kings from different suits along with a Pair from different suits. Three Aces with any Pair of Kings is considered the highest possible Full House.
5) Flush
A Flush consists of any five cards in the same suit. These cards do not have to be in a row. Any combination will do. For example, a Tree of Hearts, a Queen of Hearts, a Six of Heart, a Two of Heart, and a Five of Heartwould be a Flush.
6) Straight
A Straight is made up of five cards, which are in a row numerically. The cards can be mixed from any of the four suits. The highest Straight possible is an Ace-King-Queen-Jack-10.
7) Three of a Kind
A Three of a Kind is made up by any three cards, which are the same value but not in the same suite. Three of a Kind poker hands are often called trips (triece) because of the triple use of cards. Three Aces is the highest ranking of all trips.
8) Two Pairs
Two Pairs is made up of two Pairs of cards from any suit any value. With two Pairs, you can make a Full House with just one more match. If the match fails, you’re still left with two Pairs. It’s considered one of the most promising of all poker hands.
9) One Pair
The single Pair is made up of two cards from the same numerical value. They can be from different suits. The highest ranking of Pairs is two Aces.
10) High Card
The High Card is the absolute lowest ranking of all poker hands. If no one has even a single Pair the person with the highest card held wins. If two people have the same High Card, the person with the second highest card wins, and so on.
